On my desk today i have a birthday card I'm making .
The stamped image is a High Hopes stamp which has been coloured using my Whisper felt pens. To the right are some birthday stamps . Along the back are some items I'm which I'm using in my December Daily.
If your wondering why I'm showing you my desk then join me over at Julia's place to find out more.
I painted & added paper to a Bo Bunny album that i had & have made a start cutting paper to size to fit in the page protectors. I finished doing this later Monday afternoon & haven't been back to my desk since.
So my plan for today will be to do some more crafting & of course see what everyone else has been up to today.
I'd seen so many cards on Pinterest of a snowman card using Stamp-in up's Top Note Die .
I really liked the snowman cards I'd seen & how easy it was to make so I went ahead & ordered the Stamp-in Up die to have a try at making this card for myself.
As I'm not really a card maker I'm pleased at how well my cards turned out.
It's What's on Your Work desk Wednesday again , If you want to find out more then join me over at Julia's place to find out what it's all about http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/ & hopefully you might be tempted to join in seeing what everyone has on their desk today.
So on my desk are some snowmen i stamped & coloured a few months again with good intentions of making Christmas cards but got into other things & didn't do anything with them.
Now that Halloween is well & truly over it's time to think about making a few Christmas cards once again, or at least attempt too .
So the cards are out, the inserts, & envelopes so i guess that's a good start for now .
What a fun night we all had last night from Halloween & the many children that came call at our door.
We have never had so many children before doing Trick or Treat it was wonderful & the one thing i can say about all the children were that they were so polite & all said thank you.
All the treat boxes i had made went quickly & i had to make up some treat bags which all went so my dear husband was sent down to our local shop for more sweets which we left lose in a bowl.
I thought i'd show you our pumpkins light up & my lovely grandson being a scary pirate . By the time he got to us he was tired & didn't want to put his mask on to show us but we don't mind he's still lovely as he is.
So thats it for another year , now to get on with some Christmas bits.
Happy Halloween to all.
In America Halloween is very big & just really starting to take off here in the UK.
In previous post i have been busy making treat boxes & bag ready for Trick or Treater to come calling so here are my finished things all ready for them.
Over a vase of flowers I've placed a ghost costume, He looks like he guarding the sweets.
Earlier in the week my grandson came round so he was helping me crave some pumpkins.
He did the one with square eyes & then lost interest so i had to finish off his one, but at least he gave it a go.
Our finished pumpkins
The house is all ready for tonight & we are quite lucky because we get quite a few children calling & all have been very nice in the past .
So now i can't wait for night to come so i can light the pumpkins , So happy Halloween to all & if your out with the children have a great time & stay safe.
A quirky little character i've chosen to use on a Halloween tag .
I started by spraying Dylusions spray inks ,( Squeezed Orange , Crashed Grape, & Fresh Lime ) on to some thin card which gave me the back ground for my tag & to stamp Dylusions Monster Mash stamps on to. I run the tag through a Tim Holtzs spider web embossing folder & went over that with a black ink pad.
I did a bit of paper piercing to give me the different colours of my little quirky monster.
The cob web at the bottom of my tag is a Martha Stewart punch , the pumpkin is a stamp that I've turned into a treat bag & the No trick just Treats sign is a stamp . This has been cut from the same card which i had sprayed with the three Dylusions ink.
The speech bubble i cut from a sheet of K&Co Halloween paper & the colours are the same as the three spray inks.
I'm going to enter my tag for a monthly challenge over at http://asprinkleofimagination.blogspot.co.uk/p/blog-page.html
Hi everyone , it's a wet start to this Wednesday here. So can't think of anything better then staying in the dry & joining in the fun over at Julia's so see what everyone got on there desk today.
On my desk in the middle is my score board with the Halloween treat boxes cut out, scored & stamped. I'm colouring the red on the word Blood. In the box above these are a few boxes I made before deciding on the ones I'm doing.
At the back right is a box with scrapbooking things , not that I've done any scrapbooking lately now that i'm in full swing with getting things ready for Halloween.
If you'd like to see what else I've been making just look at the post below this.
Right that's me off to have a snoop to see what all been up to.
I've had a Configuration box hanging about since last year & thought it was time i got on & did something with it. I toyed with the idea of a Christmas themed configuration box, but then i changed my mind & went for a Halloween theme instead.
Be warned this post is quite picture heavy.
Below is how it all come together.
I made a start painting the boxes with black acrylic paint. When that was dry i used a a very small amount of Silver metallic acrylic paint & lightly went over the black so that it gave the boxes a metal look.
When i had decided how & where the boxes were going to be placed i used two sheets of scrapbook paper called Midnight Magic from Recollections . Its a pity that the photo doesn't puck up the lovely glitter on the black pattern paper because it's so lovely.
I've placed three boxes on the outside of the main box to make it bigger & also to give it a different look . I used Tim Holtzs metal feet embellishments to raise the box of the desk but then i was faced with a problem of no support in the middle of the box. I solved this problem by using three wooden cotton reels & painted them the same why as i did the boxes.
I glued the boxes in place & used a few pegs to hold them in position .
The next stage to completing my box was easy . I had lots of Halloween things that i had been buying over the last couple of years from places like Asda & Wilkinsons & other shops. I buy things in the sale & put them away to use for the following year in treat bags & anything else i can think of.
So hear is the finished box.
Bottles have been filled with skulls that were from a bracelet i brought from a charity shop. Old beads i had in a drawer, metal punch out scraps my friend Sue gives me & the little white ghost are from a sequin pack from Wilkinson that brought last year.
More painted cotton reels With a Pumpkin boarder wrapped round & orange ribbon.
This large skull i find in a seaside shop in Shanklin on the isle of Wight & paid the grand sum of £1.50. I added black beads for eyes.
The clock face is from an old watch & placed inside a bottle cap. The broom i picked up in a craft shop & had for a while.
The skeletons have had littel gems added for their eyes.
So on my desk today are the start of Halloween treat boxes.
I can't claim that the idea was mine for boxes because i find out on YouTube how to make these.
So as you can see I'm still at the planning stage.
These sit onto of my stamp-in up score board.
The weekly challenge over on UKScrapper this week has been set by the group I'm in.
The challenge our group has set is to choose three or more elements from the a list we have set out to create a layout.
So our list is use sketch, Do misting,
use Leaves, use a themed paper,
Metallic or faux metallic items,
We think that we have selected some good items to use to help make a Lo.
Here is my layout for our challenge.
I've used the Sketch, twine, button, themed paper, & leaves which i stamped & then cut out.
There's nothing better then tea & biscuits & my Grandson loves dunking his biscuits also.
The paper I've used is one from Bo Bunny which I've had for a while.
I've used some elements from Simple Stories Snap collection & the letters are Echo Parks Splash collection.
The chain boarder was made using an EK Success punch & a Disney Mickey mouse Sticker to match his cup.
So now my desk today i have a scrapbook page all ready set out roughly . will stick everything down later today .The paper & stamps used are from TPC Studio called Transportation.
The white circle I've made using a Posca pen going round a small paint. I needed it to look like stitching.
A tag which incorporates the stamping on fabric from a previous post.
The tag i cut using an On the Edge Die.
The back ground for my tag was made using Paperartsy Fresco finish Acrylic paints , Very Berry,& an one of Tim Holtzs acrylic Dabber Pool.
Over this i used Paperarsty Crackle Glaze, & over the crackle glaze i then put on snowflake acrylic paint.
I really don't use this often enough , because it a great product which works before your eyes. ( "So note to myself, use it more things").
The mushroom was coloured by using red, pumpkin soup, & snowflake.
The hat , caterpillar & quote i stamped onto some Grunge paper which i had left over from another project a while ago.
The leaves have been painted with Guacamole.
On my desk you will see that i have been stamping on fabric . I've used Archival black ink to stamp the image & then coloured one with Anita's red acrylic paint & Paperartsy Pumpkin soup acrylic paint.
The one I've already painted will be made in to an atc, & the other i'll use on a tag.
What on my work desk Wednesday fun where we all blog hop to see what everyone has on their desk each & every Wednesday. If you'd like to find out more then join me over at Julia's place , http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/
