Whats on Your Work Desk Wednesday 179

Here we are again another Wednesday has rolled around so it's time again to show what we have on our work desks, & the latest things we are all working on. If your new & don't know what it's all about hope over to Julia's place to join in the fun, http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/

So here's the view from my desk, i took the picture last night & this morning the only thing that looks different is the lids have been put back on ink pads.
I'm making a couple of tags just for fun, messing about trying different things.
I started my tag with given them each a good coat of Gesso then placed then together , & then peeling then apart which gives a lovely textured back ground.
I saw this technique in last months craft stamper mag & wanted to try it.
I then added Rangers Perfect Pearls , (Green patina & perfect gold) while the gesso was still wet . once dried i sprites the tags with a little water & dired the tags with my heat gun.
The tag on the right as you can see has had Distress in Fired Brick & Forest Green added. Its a pity your can't see the wonderful shine coming through the inks from the perfect pearl.
Not sure at this moment what else i'm going to add to complete my tags ,but i'm sure i'll come up with something.

  4. Hi Jill, thanks for your earlier visit to my humble blog.
Glad to hear someone else wears gloves using the spray inks, I couldn't believe how messy they are, not used to that lol.
Soda will most definitely keep away from the inks though.

  12. I just love it when I find time to just 'play'. That magazine does have some good new techniques to get you started. I like the choice of colours, especially with Christmas approaching.
I hope we get to see the finished tags one day.
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a kind comment.
    Happy Workdesk Wednesday.

  17. I've been wanting to try out gesso but when I look at it in the store it seems like it has the consistency of water, very very runny. Is that how it is supposed to be? I'm just wondering how you work with it, when its so runny...anyways, nice tidy desk you have there. Isn't is fun to play? :)
Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment already, glad you liked my stamp cleaning idea. Deeyll #88

    1. My gesso is'nt running at all. I'm wondering if you need to give yours a good mix to see if that helps's , if not you might have to get a new one.

  22. Your tags are looking fab! I tried that technique from Craft Stamper too and love it. Thank you for visiting me. The Splodgeway mat is a fairly new blending mat. It makes blending and brayering easier and you use less ink. You have to keep heat and blades away from it though. If you watch Create and Craft, they have a show on Sunday at 3.00. I saw it on c & c and bought one straight away. Have a good week. xx

  26. Gosh your lovely tags reminded me of that technique I used to do on dominoes. Being non porous I would paint them with acrylic paint and then put them together and take apart - it was known as 'the kissing technique'.
    Thanks for sharing.
