WOYWW 260 ,,5th Anniversary

Today we are celebrating the 5th Anniversary of What's on your work desk Wednesday.
The brains behind all this is Julia . http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/
Julia came up with the idea that each Wednesday we show what we have on our desks & the projects we are working & then share with others how take part each week.
A big thank you to Julia because without you this would not be happening.
So let me show you what i have on my desk today.
At the top is a sheet of word quotes & below i'm still working on my baby album laying things out before sticking down.

WOYWW 259

What's On your Work Desk Wednesday  takes place over at Julia's each week. Next week is a special woyww because it will be the 5th Anniversary of this weekly event which was thought up by Julia & without her we would not be doing this. if you'd like to find out about this & how you can join in hop over to here http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/
This is my desk today.
Along the top of my desk is a pile of Simple Stories page protectors & decorative envelopes , & a Simple stories album with a photo of my Grandson & a couple of new baby cards , not that he's new anymore.
Below these items i have a sheet with baby words & saying & so alphabet sheet..
The brown envelope came with the album & i'm in the process of decorating it right now with some paper & a card.
As this album will be all about my Grandson I'm planning on using this envelope to hold the baby cards inside the album.

Tags

I've made three tags for the May tag swap organised by Suzie over at ukscrappers.
The theme was 3D flowers.
For my back ground I've used distress ink through a stencil . The body form & the music sheet i cut from some Bo Bunny paper i have.the flourish were  die cuts which i put a thin layer of crackle gold on.
The flower brads i dabbed acrylic on to change their colour  & the large flowers were stamped onto leftover scraps of card that already had Dylusions spray ink on.
I mounted my tags on black card

Dream Canvas

I brought a plain  canvas from my local craft shop, i like this one because the back ground colour was already on it.
One of my crafting friends Sheila, ( Hello Sheila),  Had the big Sizzix letter dies & kindly cut the letters out for me from mount board.
I painted the letters with Paperartsy Guacamole & Pumpkin soup acrylic paint. I then used a script stamp over this but the picture isn't showing it so well.
The corners are Tim holtzs & the metal flowers are Prima ones. The other flowers are ones that i've i had for ages along with the brads too.
I tried to keep it quite clean & simple because this is going in our bedroom.

Craft swaps

Two swaps completed which i'm sharing today.
The first is a Project Life / snap card swap hosted by Netty over at http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk .
We had to make five 6x4 cards & 10 3x4 inch cards.
I used some paper from Bo Bunny & added some stamping along with die cut shapes & boarder punch.
I hope my swap partners like them.
The second swap is a monthly postcard swap hosted by Sam on www.ukstampers.co.uk .
The theme Sam set for May was anything goes as long as you add a piece of patterned paper on your postcard.
I've used Paperartsy paints for my back ground & the stamped images are Stampers anonymous & Dylusions.

A new coat of paint

It's been a few years since I've painted the Gnomes & animals that live in my garden.
It was my husbands grandfather that got me into painting gnomes . His grandad used to make them & paint them as a means of keeping himself busy.
I'm showing you the before & after photo's .
I used Deco Arts Acrylics paints .
