Two altered dolls Heads for Halloween

I brought two Brats doll heads from my local charity shop for 79p each . I had a project in mine & I thought at that price if it didn't work out I've not lost much.
When I got them home I went straight to garage to find a small hack saw & the hand drill for later on .
First job was to add false nails to the dolls which I brought a box of 100 from the 99p shop.
when the nails were dry I attacked the dolls with a drill 7 hack saw then gave them a coat of Black acrylic paint .
I the dolls dry & them sponge grey acrylic piant on the face, arms &body prats that were showing.
Here are my finished dolls .  I think they will look good in my garden. this year.

Halloween Tombstone #2

This is Tombstone Number two which I've made from a Polystyrene box.
I glued the lid onto the box & placed two half bricks inside so that this would help it to stay in place in the garden & not blow away because polystyrene is so light .
Using black acrylic paint I  gave the box its first coat of paint .
With I small file which I found in our garage I dug away at the polystyrene to make it look like it was well weathered & added a date .

When I was happy with what I'd done I gave the box a second coat of  black paint.

To make the box look a little more like stone  I sponge over everything with grey paint .
I had another box & used the just the lid this time & gave it the same paint treatment but this time carved the words Dead & Gone.
I made a cut in the top of the box so that the lid slots in & can be removed a  later day if need be.
This project didn't cost me anything as the two boxes were found dumped in a layby.

Halloween Tombstones

This year I wanted to add more Halloween things to our garden & thought I would have a go at making my own & plus help to keep the cost down when decorating the garden & hopefully should last longer then some of these shop brought ones.
I started with a thick piece of an old chipboard shelf which was in my husbands garage which I gave a coat of white undercoat.
I then attached some rope with small tacks .
I had a polystyrene circle which came from a pizza base & the mask I got from the works for £1.
I filled the back of the mask with newspaper & then screwed on & then added some more rope around this.
Once everything had been glued & tacked down in place I them  used black acrylic paint all over the tomb .
The next and final steps was to lightly sponge over the tombstone  acrylic grey & sliver metallic paint .
I'm pleased with my first attempt with the tombstone & will be posting more things that I've made all this week so stay tuned in for more DIY Halloween projects.

Halloween Matchbox Swap

I've took part in a matchbox swap with a couple of crafting friends.
We thought we would have a Halloween theme for them.
We used the large cooks matchbox.
I painted mine black to start of with. I used some recollections Halloween paper to decorate the front & inside the box.
The feet I got from Asda a couple of years ago so I already had them in my stash & though they would be perfect to place on top of my box. The bats were cut with a Sizzix die in black card then glitter glue was put on top.
The inside draw I used a printed image ,  tim Holtzs charm & some recollections embellishments  .
Here is the draw & box cover side by side.
I ended up altering two boxes because my friends grand daughter like what we were doing & wanted to join in . Bless her she is 8yrs old.
This is the one I made for her

October Halloween Tag Swap

My three tag for the Octobers Tag swap on http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk
The theme for this month is Halloween.
I've used a mixer of Halloween paper & stamps that make all three tags so different from each other.
I'm a big fan of Halloween so this month the theme is right up my street.

Scrapbook Layout

This is my last Halloween layout for now as I've got my Halloween album up to date with this one being 2014.
The paper used for my back ground is from K& Co & the pumpkin verse at the bottom was taken from scrapbook paper by My Minds Eye.
The black cobwebs are felt coasters which were a pack of six for £1 ,I picked up in Asda .
The trick or treat words are rub ons, & I've used a Martha Stewart punch to edge the corners of this sign.

Halloween Scrapbook Layout

A scrapbook layout made using more K& Co papers.
The skeleton theme fitted in just right with my grandsons outfit he was wearing for Halloween.
The numbers I've used for the date at the bottom of the page were cut using a sizzix die.
The other embellishments I can't remember the make & I think I got them from Michaels in America.

Scrapbook Lay out ( Halloween)

I'm trying to get up to date with my Halloween album .
Like I mentioned in another post I have a Christmas album & also a separate Halloween album also .
Each Halloween night now I take a photo of my Grandson to remember his outfits.
I started this Halloween album in 2011.
The back ground paper I've used is from a K&Co paper pad along with the orange frame around the photo.
The spider ribbon I can't remember where I got that but it all ties in nicely with this lay out.
I added some other  Halloween embellishments  also.
I must just say that my daughter in law made this spider costume , & we thought  she did a fantastic job making it.

Halloween bags

A few weeks ago I went to a fabric shop & brought some Halloween fabric to make a couple of trick or treat bags for my grandsons.
I found a piece of fabric that  had two panels on it to make treat bags & all  you had to do was cut out two handles & the cut out the treat bags fold then sew. Now that is simple enough for me as i'm not a great sewing even with the sewing machine.
Here is one panel before I've folded in half & sewn up the sides.
The finished bags below is the first bag showing both sides

The second bag showing whats on both sides.

Halloween atc's

Two Halloween themed atc's made for a swap at the crafting  club I go to.
The first is a cut out sign from a paper pad I have. I've added a little lace, flowers & sparkle brad to match.
 My second atc , I've used a felt cobweb a sticker , a stamped image of a bottle , & a bat which I glittered.
I've tried not to make them scary because the ladies I'm swapping with aren't really into Halloween or anything scary .

Halloween mini album.

Here is a Halloween book I've made from scratch.
I like anything to do with Halloween & just like to make different things.
Beware that this post is photo heavy . Lol
This is the front cover of my book.
I used thick card , about as thickness of mount board which makes the covers really strong.
I glued a plastic skeleton & some insects on the board & covered it with tissue paper .
Next once this was completely dry I painted over everything with black acrylic paint & left it to dry .
With a dry brush I lightly brushed over  the black with sliver acrylic paint  which makes everything stand out really well.

This is a side view so you can see how raised everything is . I've added lace , a Prima bird cage & glittered up a few bats to add to the decoration.
Now for the inside pages,
Page 1
The Mr bones sign was a free image from pintrest & & everything else I I've added myself.
Pages 2 &3 , The saying was free on pintrest & everything else used are mainly die cut which I've decorated.
Pages 4 & 5, More free images from pintrest using the sayings. I just added  die cuts again .
Pages 6 & 7. Only the tag & the bottle were free images  & the rest I've used stamps , die cuts & embossing folders .
Last page is No8,
The paper I've used through out this album came from a paper pad by recollections.
Well that's it showing you my  album I do hope everyone that see's this enjoys looking through it as much as I've had making it.

Spooky fun

What a fun night we all had last night from Halloween & the many children that came call at our door.
We have never had so many children before doing Trick or Treat  it was wonderful & the one thing i can say about all the children were that they were so polite & all said thank you.
All the treat boxes i had made went quickly & i had to make up some treat bags which all went so my dear husband was sent down to our local shop for more sweets which we left lose in a bowl.
I thought i'd show you our pumpkins light up & my lovely grandson being a scary pirate . By the time he got to us he was tired & didn't want to put his mask on to show us but we don't mind he's still lovely as he is.

So thats it for another year , now to get on with some Christmas bits.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to all.
In America Halloween is very big & just really starting to take off here in the UK.
In previous post i have been busy making treat boxes & bag ready for Trick or Treater to come calling so here are my finished things all ready for them.
Over a vase of flowers I've placed a ghost costume, He looks like he guarding the sweets.
Earlier in the week my grandson came round so he was helping me crave some pumpkins.
He did the one with square eyes  & then lost interest so i had to finish off his one, but at least he gave it a go.
Our finished pumpkins
The house is all ready for tonight & we are quite lucky because we get quite a few children calling & all have been very nice in the past .
So now i can't wait for night to come so i can light the pumpkins , So happy Halloween to all & if your out with the children have a great time & stay safe.

Halloween Tag

A quirky little character i've chosen to use on a Halloween tag .
I started by spraying  Dylusions spray inks ,( Squeezed Orange , Crashed Grape, & Fresh Lime ) on to some thin card which gave me the back ground for my tag & to stamp Dylusions Monster Mash stamps on to. I run the tag through a Tim Holtzs  spider web embossing folder & went over that with a black ink pad.
I did a  bit of paper piercing to give me the different colours of my little quirky monster.
The cob web at the bottom of my tag is a Martha Stewart punch , the pumpkin is a stamp that I've turned into a treat bag & the No trick just Treats sign is a stamp .  This has been cut from the same card which i had sprayed with the three Dylusions ink.
The speech bubble i cut from a sheet of K&Co Halloween paper & the colours are the same as the three spray inks.
I'm going to enter my tag for a monthly challenge over at

Halloween configurations box

I've had a Configuration box  hanging about since last year & thought it was time i got on & did something with it. I toyed with the idea of  a Christmas themed configuration box,  but then  i changed my mind & went for a Halloween theme instead.
Be warned this post is quite picture heavy.

Below is how it all come together.
I made a start painting the boxes with black acrylic paint. When that was dry i used a a very small amount of Silver metallic acrylic paint & lightly went over the black so that it gave the boxes a metal look.

When i had decided how & where the boxes were going to be placed i used two sheets of scrapbook paper called Midnight Magic from Recollections . Its a pity that the photo doesn't puck up the lovely glitter on the black pattern paper because it's so lovely.
I've placed three boxes on the outside of the main box to make it bigger & also to give it a different look . I used Tim Holtzs metal feet embellishments to raise the box of the desk but then i was faced with a problem of no support in the middle of the box. I solved this problem by using three wooden cotton reels & painted them the same why as i did the boxes.
I glued the boxes in place & used a few pegs to hold them in position .
The next stage to completing my box was easy . I had lots of Halloween things that i had been buying over the last couple of years from places like Asda & Wilkinsons & other shops. I buy things in the sale & put them away to use for the following year in treat bags & anything else i can think of.
So hear is the finished box.

Bottles have been filled with  skulls that were from a bracelet i brought from a charity shop. Old beads i had in a drawer, metal punch out scraps my friend Sue gives me & the little white ghost are from a sequin pack from Wilkinson that brought last year.
More painted cotton reels With a Pumpkin boarder wrapped round & orange ribbon.
This large skull i find in a seaside shop in Shanklin on the isle of Wight & paid the grand sum of £1.50. I added black beads for eyes.

The clock face is from an old watch & placed inside a bottle cap. The broom i picked up in a craft shop & had for a while.
The skeletons have had littel gems added for their eyes.
